Versilia is a long shore which stretches
in parallel with a coloured and rich of different sceneries hinterland.
Versila is well-known for its beautiful beaches,
(20 km of sand!) in front of the Apuan Alps, famous for their marble.
The chief town is Camaiore; other important towns are: Viareggio,
Forte dei marmi, Massarosa, Pietrasanta, Seravezza and Stazzema.
It is a marvellous strip of land, including sea and mountains. Just
a few minutes long way from the shore, several small towns, rich
of history, lie: they are picturesque and divided by meadows, woods
and mountains. Each town has its historical, cultural, artistical
and landscape peculiarities: thanks to them, visiting the Versilia’s
neighbourood is always fun. It is possible to see ancient ruins,
fortresses, small typical churches together with the charming coast,
that, by night, colours itself with the lights of the numerous discos,
restaurants, pubs and ballrooms: mundane symbols, since the sixties,
of this lively land.
